Façades & exteriors
A façade is what passers-by see and what takes the rain. In the Var, add salt air, the mistral and thermal shocks. A well-done renovation protects for thirty years. Poorly done, ten. I work with traditional lime, modern renders or façade paint, depending on the support, exposure and budget.

The right questions, asked before the quote.
01Lime or façade paint: which to choose?
Lime for older houses (lime lets the stone breathe, prevents trapped moisture). Siloxane paint for modern façades or cement renders. I advise based on what I see on site.
02Do I need a permit to repaint the façade?
Yes, usually a prior works declaration at the town hall is enough. For protected areas (Fréjus old town, Fayence old village) there may be specific colour rules. I'll guide you.
03When is the right season?
Spring and autumn. Summer is too hot for lime (it dries too fast = cracks). A mild winter is possible for paint if the façade is dry.
