Floor coverings
A well-laid floor is invisible. But a poorly laid one creaks, warps and cracks. The work is in the preparation: perfectly flat self-levelling, suitable adhesive, layout that anticipates the room's constraints. What's visible comes last.

The right questions, asked before the quote.
01Solid parquet or engineered?
Solid: noble, can be renovated for life, more expensive. Engineered: 80% of the look, can be renovated 2-3 times, more affordable. For a main room, I have a slight preference for solid if the budget allows.
02Are large-format tiles more expensive?
For equal surface, yes: the tile costs more, the self-levelling must be more precise (otherwise the edges tip), installation needs two people. The visual result is very contemporary. Budget +25 to +40% vs a classic format.
03Can you put parquet in a bathroom?
Real wood parquet, not recommended. However, parquet-look vinyl (LVT) or a moisture-resistant laminate parquet are entirely possible and look very convincing.
